This presentation will discuss the role of neurosteroid hormones and their cyclical patterns of effect on the brains and minds of women. The implications for the mental health of women in a fast-paced and challenging world will be highlighted. Insights into treating mental health disorders affecting women across the life cycle will be offered.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is increasing in its prevalence and presentation for treatment. While the core symptoms of ASD remain critical to identify, other comorbid psychiatric disorders are also frequently requiring diagnosis and treatment. In this session, a review of core symptoms and comorbidity in ASD will be undertaken with recent data highlighting the overlap and treatment of co-occurring ADHD and substance use disorders.

Depression is among the most common disorders presenting for treatment in children and adolescents. Appropriate screening for depression and rapid diagnosis are critical to identifying and intervening early in the course of the disorder. A whole host of treatments now exist for young people with depression including psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, and neurotherapeutics. In this session, we will provide a timely update on the clinical presentation and treatment of depressive disorders in children and adolescents.

This session delves into the promise and peril of AI therapy chatbots, exploring their potential benefits and limitations. Additionally, attendees will gain insights into various digital therapeutic options available and strategies for discussing them with clients. As well as practical guidance on reviewing digital therapeutic options with patients, empowering healthcare practitioners to navigate the complex terrain of AI chatbots and digital therapeutics effectively in their practice.

This session will empower Elevate clinicians to use artificial intelligence tools in their practice. We will additionally have a hands-on demo of generative AI, including Doximity’s DocsGPT, scribe AI, GPT-based tools, Microsoft Copilot, and Microsoft Designer.

All medications have side effects, and staying up to date on the side effects of commonly prescribed medications is a first step to successful management. This presentation goes beyond basic knowledge, demonstrating integration of side effect management into a broader, patient-centered treatment plan. Three case vignettes will illustrate several common challenges, such as distinguishing side effects from symptoms, addressing side effects that are distressing but pose no medical risk, and addressing side effects that pose a medical risk but are not distressing. Next steps for intervention will be discussed, with focus on managing the impact of side effects with alignment of medical decision-making and patient goals. The faculty will be two psychiatrists at distinctly different points in their careers who will share their own perspectives and learnings; attendees will gain valuable insights into the complexities of side effect management while keeping the therapeutic relationship at the forefront of patient care.
