When individuals with skin of color seek treatment for concerns involving their hair and scalp, it is important for dermatology APPs to be able to fully understand how to best help this patient population, including awareness of how hair care practices can vary among different racial groups. This session will shed some light on diagnosing and treating scalp and hair conditions that are more prevalent in patients with skin of color, including seborrheic dermatitis, acquired trichorrhexis nodosa, acne keloidalis nuchae, pseudofolliculitis barbae, and alopecia.
